Website re-design for Gaia Servadio

Website re design for Gaia Servadio picture

Gaia Servadio is an Italian writer, broadcaster and historian who I have worked with a couple of times over the past few years making amendments to the content on her website.

When Gaia contacted me again a few months ago I suggested that it would be beneficial to have a re-design of her website as it was very basic, uninspiring and difficult to navigate which was doing nothing for her work. In order to keep the costs down for Gaia, as I was more interested in her having a decent website that would encourage users to visit and view it, I suggested using WordPress and a free or low cost pre-designed theme (I normally create bespoke sites) for the new website and Gaia agreed so the work went ahead.

I looked around and decided to use the Memoir Theme by Elegant Themes as not only was the theme nameĀ appropriateĀ :-) I felt the design suited Gaia’s work and site content. It was then just a case of tweaking the CSS and some of the layout options (which the theme options made pretty easy for me) and re-structuring the site content and navigation and the site was live.

There are still a few tweaks and additions that I think the site will benefit from but so far Gaia seems to be very happy with her new site.
